S. Truro Radar

MIT Lincoln Lab's (later, MITRE's) Radar Test Site, South Truro was an early warning radar facility located in South Truro, Massachusetts. Part of the Semi Automatic Ground Environment radar network it was operated by the 6520 Air Control & Early Warning Squadron.

The South Truro site actually was not an air-defense site per se; rather, it was an experimental site only (and it was not part of the early-warning network; instead, S. Truro and several similar test sites were part of the 1953 and 1954 Cape Cod Systems and then the Experimental SAGE Subsector {ESS}).
